Best WiFi Card Under £15? TP Link 300Mbps WiFi Card Review

Best WiFi Card Under £15? TP Link 300Mbps WiFi Card Review

I have had plenty of time to test this cheap, but effective product out. I used to have an ethernet connected to my PC, but when that stopped working out for me, I decided to go for a WiFi card. At just £12, this is a steal. However don’t be fooled by the 300mbps speed rating, those aren’t speeds you are actually going to get, just speeds that the card is capable of delivering to you.

In The Box

The unboxing experience was very surprising. For £12, I was generally expecting that the WiFi card would be in an anti-static bag, that’s it. Although when I received the box, I was pleasantly surprised that there was a 3 year warranty included, and detailed setup instructions. This is really good, if somebody who doesn’t know much about PC’s wants to get better WiFi on their computer.

Testing

The testing of the product didn’t take long, only around 4 days. The range on this card is exceptional; around the same like a mobile phone, but that couldn’t be completed, as I can’t carry my PC around the house. I was able to get 50 mbps down, and 9mbps up from my card, which is even better than the speeds that I get of other devices.

Installation was easy enough. All I had to do was turn off my PC, plug the Wi-Fi card into the PCI-E slot in my motherboard, and screw on the antennae. Just like that, you have wireless on your PC.The card is very discreet which I like, as it’s green, not at all matching with my PC.

Apart from the colour problems, I have had no issues with this product.

Pros And Cons

Pros

  • Really good range and speeds
  • Affordable
  • Clear instructions
  • Box well presented

Cons

  • The colours are a bit unattractive with the ‘motherboards green’ colour

Final Verdict

To conclude this review, I would definitely recommend this to a friend, if they need a cheap card to get their PC wireless connectivity. The clear instructions make it easy for anyone to get this up and running. the discreet design also allows for it to be put into a windowed PC, and not to be noticeably.

Anker PowerCore Mini 3350 First Impressions

Anker PowerCore Mini 3350 First Impressions

This power bank is the most portable one I have ever had the right of owning. The item is just 66g in weight, literally less than your phone’s weight, unless your phone works without a battery. The capacity being 3350mAh, it should charge any phone with a battery less than 3000mAh from 0-100%. It’s a shame that this portable charger doesn’t boast fast charge, so your phone will charge really slowly.

In the Box

Unboxing the product, is a relatively simple and quick thing to do. I couldn’t even find the manual at first, until I realised that it was inside the little paper pouch, in a similar fashion to Apple’s start up guides. The colour scheme is consistent, with Anker’s significant blue and white scheme, there is nothing new here. The box is also nothing to shout home about either.

Testing

I have used this power bank for the past 3 days, and so far, I haven’t been able to find the exact efficiency of this battery, but I have been able to get around a full charge and then some more juice for some emergency. I will do a much more in depth testing section in my full review.

Becaso 6ft Lightning Cable Review

Becaso 6ft Lightning Cable Review

Summary

Disclaimer: Becaso kindly sent out this cable for me to honestly review. The cable came in a nice packaging, and for £7, it is to be expected when you are buying a cable.  Taking out the cable, it is long, at 1.8m/6ft, providing plenty of length for those that love to use their phone on their bedside. The cable overall is very well built, and it doesn’t look like it is going to break any time soon.

In The Box And Testing

Unboxing the product is obviously very simple. No manual is included, perhaps to save costs, although it is acceptable due to the mere fact of this being a cable. The charging speed is all fine.

In terms of flexibility and how premium it is, the build quality is many times that of the cable you get with your iPhone. The cable bends to how want it, and the metal mesh around the cable protects it, and keeps the cable in that bent position. I will update this review if something goes wrong in that specific case.

One gripe I had with this product was the part that plugs into your phone. It’s quite heavy duty, too big in fact, that I had to take my case off which has a decent cut out, in order to plug this in. Apart from that major complaint however, I have had no problems in my five days of usage.

Availability And Specs

You can purchase this cable from Amazon for £8/$9 here:

Amazon (UK): http://amzn.to/2kpcLDM
Amazon (US): http://amzn.to/2ky8OQg

The specs I really don’t feel are necessary, as the cable is 6ft, and it is stated on Amazon that it fits almost all cases, mine unfortunately not included. The cable is Apple certified, for those wondering.

Pros And Cons

Pros

  • Very affordable
  • Made with premium materials, bend span not stated
  • Really long length cable

Cons

  • The part that plugs in my case is too large to fit in my case,
and others with small cut outs.

Final Verdict

The cable by Becaso is well worth the buy if you are looking for a long cable, that is safe and premium. However, make sure that your cases’ cut out for the charging port isn’t so small that the cable won’t fit, be wary of that. Besides from that issue, I would definitely recommend this cable to a friend.

Rating: 4.1 out of 5.

Nuibier RGB Projector Lights Review

Nuibier RGB Projector Lights Review

Summary

I was kindly sent these lights in exchange for my honest, unbiased review. These lights to start with, have certainly blown my expectations, with everything made with metal, and the lights projecting nice and far. The projector comes with a good, functional remote, that may not be as well built as the projector, but still has good range. You can control 7 colours, and a variety of modes, making this perfect for parties.

Testing

This is part 2 of the RGB lights that I was reviewing in the last post. In my testing of this device, I have found that the stand it comes with is below standard. I can’t really get it to bend how I desire, as the legs don’t like to move from their original position. I like how the remote included works from very far ranges as well, since many of the similar products i have reviewed, had very poor range.

The same colour scheme in a sort applies, there are only 7 colours you can actually choose from, which is quite dissapointing. Although, the clours displayed as purple for example are just a mixture of the two colours, and although they work well, it is clear that the lights are displaying blue and red mixed together.

Another gripe I had with this product is the fans. For some reason, the fans would have a funny whine to it, and I constantly wonder why these lights require a fan. Anyway, for the average marketed consumer, this won’t be a problem, since it is presumed that you will use this in loud events, so the fans won’t even crop up as a problem to you.

The final touch Nuibier added which I thought was cool is the water effect. There are three different modes that you can use, to control the speed of the ‘wave effect’ that is created. It turns out to be quite relaxing looking at the rippling effect.

This item is only available for purchase in the United Kingdom, for £18 here:

Pros And Cons

Pros

  • Really affordable
  • Good lighting range
  • Lights get nice and bright
  • Relaxing looking at the wave effects
  • The remote has some options to control the wave speed
    and has good range

Cons

  • The lighting options are a combination of the Red, Blue And green colours
  • The fans make unusual noise
  • Why are there fans on some lights?

Final Verdict

To conclude this review, I would definitely recommend these lights, to anybody who loves the convenience of mounting a projector anywhere in the disco situation. Make sure that if you are buying this to bear in mind of the fans.
