Sparin Bluetooth Speaker Review

Sparin Bluetooth Speaker Review

Summary

Sparin kindly sent this speaker out for me to give an unbiased review. For £14, I’ll go out and say this speaker blew me away. I was wary of what I was getting, as it was a brand that I had never heard of. However the product is made of a primarily metal construction, and is really premium. The sound quality is slightly better than what you would usually get in this price range. There is a feature where you can put your SD card inside, which I really like.

In The Box

Unboxing the product, you really get plenty for what you pay for. You have a user manual, and the tiny but mighty speaker. The speaker is cold to the touch, meaning the construction is out of metal. On the underside of the speaker is the controls for pause and play, although there is not designated skip button. The underside is constructed of rubber, which is good to prevent the speaker from sliding about. The box displays the fact that the speaker is very bass heavy, which I will get on to in my user experience section.img_0434

User Experience

With this product, my experience did surpass what the price range this speaker is in. You are getting a wireless speaker that works all for under £15. That alone is decent, but of course this speaker provides more. The sound is slightly better than what you would expect from a Bluetooth speaker in this price range. The bass is what Sparin like to call ‘Shock Sound’, where the bass is so overpowering, it vibrates whatever you place the speaker on.

Unfortunately the sound signature is mainly dominated by the bass, which is OK as the speakers are advertised as ‘incredible bass’. This means that if you love bass heavy genres, then this speaker will be no problem for you. The mids suffer the most, as vocals can be washed away by the bass. The highs suffer the same problem. The speaker gets very loud with the single 3W speaker, at roughly 80dB, despite this, the speaker distorts significantly at any volume above 80%.

In regards to battery life that isn’t this speakers’ strong point either. The speaker claims to get around 5 hours of continuous play, but in my testing, i got around 3.5 hours-4.

Availability And Specifications

This speaker is currently available off Amazon for £14/$16. For what you’re getting, you should not expect top class specs for a really budget-end speaker.

Final Verdict

To conclude, this speaker is perfect for somebody not concerned about sound quality, loves bass, and just wants a tiny speaker to travel around with. This speaker is very portable, and light by not being much heavier than your phone.  If the sound quality isn’t an issue for you, then by all means go for this speaker, that is very well built for the price may I add. The sound won’t match speakers out of it’s price range, because it is only £14. Overall, you are getting quite a decent package, and I wouldn’t be afraid to recommend.
